pyramids and frequencies
i’m back from mexico and i feel alive again. is there any better feeling than the sun on your skin, palpably charging all the cells of your body? not many, that’s for sure. i was staying at an all-inclusive resort for a wedding; though extremely beautiful and luxurious it’s not my preferred way of traveling. i’d rather dive headfirst into the culture. live like a local. luckily, i did have a chance for an excursion to chichen itza! see the pure joy in this reel..
my tour guide was excellent, part mayan himself, he was passionate about the culture and educating people about the intelligence and richness of his ancestors. we stopped at a small mayan community where we had a shaman bless us, watched a man carve a sculpture out of a huge stone, and ate handmade tortillas and pork smoked in an underground pib “earth oven” . (i didn’t eat the pork but they made the best pico i’ve ever had!)

then it was off to chichen itza! looking at the pyramids felt surreal. the fact they could create such a majestic, beautiful structure and do all the carvings with such precision and without any modern day tools is just mind boggling. if you follow me on ig you may have seen some photos i posted and the caption had facts i learned from my guide— if you don’t/didn’t and want to see, here’s a quick link!
on our way back to the resort we stopped to swim in a cenote.
can you believe that those hanging down tarzan looking ropes are actually roots of trees?!?! literal aerial tree roots that dip down into the sink hole to get water….. … . . .. so trippy! below is a view from above ground.
awhile back i read a book called signs by laura lynne jackson. she wrote how every place on earth contains a different frequency. when you travel, you have the opportunity to experience life through the lens of this new energy. occasionally the frequency doesn’t resonate with you and other times it harmonizes beautifully with your own. i think this is why we feel the pull to go to places we’ve never been and may not know anything about, because our soul longs to experience the energy that place has to offer. the more i’ve traveled, the more desire i have to travel— to experience the different frequencies, to notice how i show up in each place, and to cherish the gift of a new perspective.
